Welcome Jayne Naragon—Personnel Manager/Librarian

A note from Eric Benjamin

I am very pleased to welcome Jayne Naragon to the position of Personnel Manager/Librarian of the Tuscarawas Philharmonic. I have known Jayne for 20 years and am confident in her ability to keep the Philharmonic staffed with high-quality players, and the library organized, and the music delivered in a timely fashion. These are indispensable tasks, and Jayne brings great personal skills (a clear head and “unflappability”) and assets (she knows everybody!) to the work. I look forward to working with her.

Jayne’s affiliation with the Tuscarawas Philharmonic spans two decades in her capacity as 2nd clarinetist, bass and E-flat clarinetist, and saxophonist. A graduate of Kent State University, Jayne holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Clarinet Performance and studied with Daniel Roberdeau (former Principal Clarinet, Canton Symphony), Dr. Dennis Nygren (emeritus Professor of Clarinet, Kent State University), and Franklin Cohen (former Principal Clarinet, Cleveland Orchestra). In addition to Tuscarawas Philharmonic, Jayne performs with the Ashland Symphony, Canton Player’s Guild Theatre, Canton Concert Band, and is active as a free-lance musician.

As an educator, Jayne has taught for Massillon City, Green Local, and Medina City schools, served as Adjunct Instructor of Clarinet at University of Mount Union, and is currently on staff at Kent State University Stark Campus. In addition to her performance obligations, Jayne serves as Lesson Studio Director for Pellegrino Music Center and is president of the Canton Concert Band board of directors.

Welcome Jayne!
